This weeks Students in Business meeting will be based around looking at defining what expertise we are looking for from our mentors.
Some important dates for your diary include:
13th November - Institute of Directors Launch night, free wine and food for all member!
27th November - SPEED students celebration (All students in Business members welcome), Free food and wine and a very impressive speaker!
See you in the Start-Up Cafe at 6pm! Please ensure you have been to the Students Union to become a member of the society so you are entitled to mentoring!

Hi Guys,
It was great to see a few more of you last week in the Start-Up Cafe, but we need more of you to ensure we can put food and drink on over the next few weeks! Bring your friends along and let them see how they can help themselves and have a great time!
This Thursday we are meeting at the Start-Up Cafe at 6pm for some great activities so that everyone to get to know everyone, and learn a bit about improving our future careers.

After a successful societies and sport fayre, Students in Business looks to help more students than ever before! Here are a few reasons why you need to join:
- Monthly social events (clubs and pubs)
- Informal Q & A sessions with Institute of Directors
- We are currently working to get a discout card for Bar Escape (to be confirmed)
The first official meeting will be taking place this Thursday (2nd October), at 6pm, at Bar Escape.

Hi Guys,
Yes it is that time of the year again when a new term starts, whether you are a Fresher or a Veteran of Coventry University, the Students in Business society Welcome You!
This year we are going to be attracting more members than ever from the Student population as we are focusing on all who are looking to start their own businesses as well as those who wish to move into the corporate world of business after graduation.
Do either of these apply to you? If so don’t delay, visit the Students Union (Priory St) and JOIN UP!
This year we will be hosting social events ranging from Bar Escape after meetings to fun packed nights out, around the drinking landmarks of the city.
We will also be helping you find out more about business, through Masterclasses presented by the Institute of Directors, informal Question & Answer sessions and networking events.
So we look forward to seeing You at the Start-Up Cafe (Behind Alan Berry Building), Thursday nights at 6pm. Bring a friend and see how you can both focus your mind on business and the career you always wanted!

Coventry University is committed to providing you with a range of facilities and help you start your own business. We want to help develop you as the Richard Branson’s of tomorrow. We are appealing to all students to take a short online survey which will help us identify any areas in which we could provide a better service. We are also interested in discovering which of our current services you are aware of. Many of you took this survey in November and your results have lead to fantastic changes, now we want to know how we can help you even further.
This survey is intended to be taken by all students, from all faculties and those with OR without a business idea or plans to start a business. it is focused on discovering what you are aware of and so allowing us to more accurately communicate and tailor the help available.

The nominees for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year 2007/8′ were very tough indeed. This is only the 3rd year of this award which is sponsored by the Student Enterprise Centre. It is awarded for outstanding contribution to enterprise activities within Coventry University and for the demonstration of their ambition, commitment and achhievement. it is voted for by the Universities staff at the Student Enterprise Centre and this year we are delighted to say that the winner is a member of Students In Business.

The Students in Business society was named Society of the month by Coventry university Students Union. The Students in Business Society is dedicating to providing students with the best base to start a business, at every level; from general networking sessions to professional mentoring, as well as just having a great time.
We offer free mentors from the Institute of Directors, who will advise and support you, in order to create a successful business that is ready to take on the world.
The Institute of Directors also provides society members with monthly Master Classes in order to brush up on specific areas of business. We would love to see you at 6pm in the Start-Cafe Cafe for all of the following dates:
* 24th January - Legal Issues
* 21st February - Public Relations
* 13th March - Intellectual Property Rights
* 24th April - Sales
* 22nd May - The Internet and You Business
We meet every Thursday at 6pm in the Start-Up Cafe (behind the Alan Berry Building), and normally migrate to the local bar and continue networking over a drink.
